The UQUEST program was led by Patrice G. Saab, Ph.D. (Principal Investigator) and Maria M. Llabre, Ph.D. (Co-Investigator), Professors in the Department of Psychology at the University of Miami. Key members of the University of Miami team included Nickelle Decius, Manuela Jaramillo, Rafael Leite, and Carolina Carvajalino. External evaluation was provided by Maria Isabel Panizo, Ph.D. The collaboration and support provided by the Overtown Youth Center team led by Brittany Lambert and Clinique Smith was important for the success of the project.

The UQUEST Research Assistants
Over the course of program implementation, over 100 undergraduates worked in the campus laboratory preparing materials and piloting procedures or served as Guides (i.e., near peer mentors) directly working with the 2nd-5th graders in the afterschool program at the Overtown Youth Center. The Guides modeled that careers in science and health were accessible to the student participants.
