What the MRI facility does:
- Generates the rules and regulations and standard operating procedures and maintains compliance of these procedures.
- Maintains safety of research subjects and research teams.
- Provides time on the scanner and/or mock scanner.
- Provides access to a physicist and MRI technologist.
- Provides access to an assistant scientist to determine project needs.
- Provides safety training for research staff.
- Provides the equipment to present stimuli, record behavioral responses, measure psychophysiology and eye-tracking.
- Provides a brief equipment orientation.
- Provides a DVD of the images acquired.
What the Investigator does:
- Secures IRB approval.
- Adheres to the rules and regulations and standard operating procedures of the MRI facility.
- Maintains safety of research subjects and research teams.
- Generates the hypotheses to be tested.
- Provides safety-trained research staff to conduct the experiments at the MRI facility.
- Programs the experiment.
- Uses the equipment properly.
- Recruits research participants.
- Schedules time on the scanner and indicates needs at the time of scheduling.
- Analyzes the data.
- Provides funds for the scans in a timely manner.
