Director of Undergraduate Studies
University of Miami, 1994
As Director of Undergraduate Studies, I coordinate advising for the over 800 Psychology and 200 Neuroscience majors. I designed, developed, and implement our unique, two semester freshman advising, orientation, and mentoring program, FACT FORUM. All incoming freshman majors take this course designed to ease the transition to the University and ensure timely graduation. The program helps students take charge of their own curriculum based on their own strengths, needs, and aspirations. I also conduct a similar course for transfer students. I am the editor of all Senior Honors Thesis done by Psychology and Neuroscience majors in the Department of Psychology and teach a weekly class to help students as they progress work on the thesis. I have taught courses in personality and personality theory, industrial psychology, and child and adolescent development. I am also the Chair of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee which decides issues regarding course work and graduation requirements. Have suggestions about the undergraduate program? I'd like to hear from you.
