Interdisciplinary Training in Education Research and Advanced Statistical Methods

This initiative is supported by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) in the US Department of Education.

The primary objectives of the proposed training program are to:

  • Provide trainees interested in quantitative psycho-educational research with a rigorous background in:

    •  advanced statistical techniques,

    •  education practices,

    •  theory construction,

    •  research methodology,

    •  the critical content knowledge relevant to their particular research interests 

    applicable to real-world settings

  • Provide trainees with experience and expertise in working with multicultural issues that affect educational research;
  • Train students to translate their knowledge of  statistics, methods, basic development science, and educational practices into critical, problem-solving, education research applications.
