Coping and Recovery home

The Coping and Recovery Project at the University of Miami has been supported by the National Cancer Institute for over 10 years to research the effects of stress management interventions on women newly diagnosed with breast cancer.

Being diagnosed with breast cancer is a stressful time for any woman. Our goal is to give you strategies to help you during this challenging time. We are providing supportive, educational groups for women who have recently had surgery for breast cancer. Our study offers the following:

  • Free enrollment into a research study at the University of Miami
  • Weekly group sessions over a five week period, consisting of six to eight women
  • Information on coping strategies for dealing with breast cancer
  • Payment for follow-up participation in our study

Be part of a social network as you cope with the stress related to breast cancer and its diagnosis
